Grace Turner

Hi there! My name is Grace and I am 10 years old.

I first started gymnastics when I was 5 years old at my local gymnastics club. I joined SXL in 2015 as part of the Junior Development Squad and since then, I have progressed to the International Squad thanks to the great support I have received from my coaches and team mates.

During my time at SXL, I have competed in Levels 1, 2, 3A and 5 and I am currently competing in 11-16. All these competitions have taught me a lot about the sport and I have improved as a gymnast and an individual whilst learning how to work well in a team.

I love Acrobatic Gymnastics. It does require a lot of training and hard work. I don’t mind this at all as it is a sport I am passionate about and I know that the hard work I put in will help me achieve my goals for the future.

Jess, Stella and I are working towards being selected for the Australian National Team to compete at the World Age Group Championships in Switzerland in 2020. I am incredibly excited for this opportunity. As a trio we have achieved much success in a very short time. In 2018, we placed first overall at the NSW State Championships and at National Clubs. This year, we were lucky enough have the opportunity to compete in our first international competition as a trio in Las Vegas and recently continued our success at the NSW State Championships.

Thank you to my parents, coaches, team mates and especially my bases for supporting me in my gymnastics journey! I have only just started and I look forward to what lies ahead in this amazing sport.
