Kristen Rajaratnam Australian Acrobatic Gymnast

I started acrobatic gymnastics when I was 6, turning 7 (2009) and ever since then it has been such an important part of my life. I love how acro is such a unique sport and requires so many different skills, many of which I have developed throughout my 9 year journey.

At the beginning of last year, I was part of an 11-16 trio and we were training towards The World Age Group Championships. However, after the National Championships that year, I began my partnership with Nick in preparation for the amazing opportunity to represent Australia at the Youth Olympics. I moved from an 11-16 trio to a 13-19 mixed pair, which has been quite a big change in my acrobatic life. I am very proud to say that I have been selected to compete at The World Age Group Championships for Australia and although I have come across many challenges in the past few months, I am so grateful for this opportunity as I have grown so much as athlete from this experience.

I am focused on working even harder for the World Age Group Championships as representing Australia internationally is such an honour and I am so proud to have come this far.
